Brett joined Stacks Goudkamp in December 2013 where he works as a specialist personal injury lawyer. Prior to joining Stacks Goudkamp, Brett completed an 18-month internship at the Motor Accidents Authority, working for the Claims Assessment and Resolution Service (CARS) as an Exemptions Officer and Research Associate to the Principal Claims Assessor. Brett works closely with Tom Goudkamp, Managing Director and Ruth Hudson, Practice Group Leader, on motor accident claims and public liability claims.
During his time at CARS Brett developed his understanding and experience with motor vehicle claims and the CARS claims process, developing a particular area of expertise in exemption of claims from the CARS system. In August 2014, Brett presented a paper on exemptions and late claims to the New South Wales State Legal Conference.
Brett studied a double degree in Law and Arts at the University of Western Sydney, and during his time at university he worked as a facilitator and mentor to other students as part of the Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) program, including students of Tort Law.
Brett continues to volunteer as a Debating and Public Speaking Adjudicator at St Gregory’s College Campbelltown, his old high school, and enjoys giving up his time to coach and mentor the students.
Brett enjoys attending weekly trivia nights, playing cricket and soccer, spending time with friends and taking holidays with his family to Gerroa on the South Coast of New South Wales
A member of the New South Wales Law Society and the Australian Lawyers Alliance, Brett is passionate about helping his clients obtain the compensation they deserve. He wanted to become a lawyer since he was a young child. His down to earth and easy going nature allows him to easily relate to people across different walks of life, making him a valuable addition to the Stacks/Goudkamp team.
