New Year Resolutions

As a woman in her late 30’s and nearing the end of the year I’ve been trying to figure out what my New Years resolution should be. This made me think over my previous resolutions, which I then tried to make a list of.

As the list went on and on, I realised that I have exhausted almost every resolution out there and that I have put some unrealistic expectations on myself, which I have failed to live up to. I then think what is it that I want exactly in my older age? It comes to me like a light bulb…. I don’t want to have a resolution. I just want to be happy, healthy and safe.

At the beginning of the New Year, everyone seems to go full-force into their resolutions, and by the end of January, everyone has given up on their goals.  A New Years resolution shouldn’t be hard, and you shouldn’t be placing too many restrictions on yourself. I saw a meme the other day that read “Decided that my 2016 starts again on 1st February. January was just a trial month”. This was a perfect example of how I want to start 2017.

From all of us here at Stacks Goudkamp, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Don’t put yourself under too much pressure and please remember to stay safe over the holiday period.
