In 2011, I created the Stacks Goudkamp ‘Wall of Fame’ to celebrate and remember the outstanding service and achievements of some of our long-serving lawyers who, for whatever reasons, decided to ‘move on’. They always did so with our blessing and our best wishes for their futures.
I also saw The Wall as a great way to stay in touch with our past and for the inductees to stay in touch with each other.
The first inductee was Jnana Gumbert who joined the firm when she was just 18. Twelve years later, after she had made a very significant contribution to the firm’s success, Jnana left the firm to become a barrister.
Two years later in 2013, I inducted Michelle Martin and Mary Moloney, followed a year later by Emma Mead.
This year, on 5 May, a male finally made it to the Wall when Ivan Dzajkovski was inducted after 20 years with the firm.
I also inducted Tatiana White to our Wall at that time. Tatiana had worked for Stacks Goudkamp for many years, often from exotic locations such as Vienna and Canberra.
We celebrate the Wall of Fame with an annual lunch attended by the Wall of Famers and our senior lawyers. It’s become a cherished event.
