Leading Australian personal injury firm Stacks Goudkamp has announced the appointment of a new Practice Group Leader, marking the official establishment of a Travel Law team in their Sydney office.

Victoria Roy, previously an Associate, will be promoted to Practice Group Leader effective from 2 May 2016. Ms Roy will head up a team of five as Stacks Goudkamp’s Travel Law practice continues to grow.

Stacks Goudkamp’s Travel Law department acts for individuals who have been injured in accidents on cruise ships, on board aircraft, and overseas. The department also acts for foreign visitors injured in Australia. The development of this practice area builds on Managing Director Tom Goudkamp’s long standing passion and experience in overseas cases.

Tom Goudkamp, Managing Director, made the following comments:

“Victoria is an outstanding lawyer who has already made a very significant contribution to the firm through her online marketing and promotional skills. She has great depth of knowledge and experience in Travel Law and is an expert in Conflict of Laws, shown by the various conferences that she has been personally invited to speak at over the last year. Victoria has used her passion for Travel Law to build a new successful niche practice area which has outgrown her personal capacity and justifies her managing her own team.

The Directors and I are therefore delighted to announce Victoria’s appointment to Practice Group Leader. She has all the attributes to be an excellent leader and will be a significant driver of the firm’s longterm growth and prosperity. It is a well deserved promotion which has come about by her hard work and vision, and symbolises the firm’s commitment to recognise and reward outstanding contributors”.
