On Thursday, 8 October 2015, Stacks Goudkamp were proud to be the sponsors of and to attend the Refugee Ball held by the Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS).
STARTTS is non-profit organisation who, for over 25 years, have been providing culturally appropriate and cutting edge psychological treatment and support to assist people heal the scars of torture and refugee trauma and rebuild their lives in Australia.
STARTTS helps people and communities from refugee backgrounds, including asylum seekers, who were forced to leave their country due to persecution and human rights violations. STARTTS also supports and resources service providers, educational institutions and volunteer groups to work more effectively with refugees and to help them integrate into our community.
The Refugee Ball, which takes place every year, raises funds to support the important work that STARTTS does. Some our firms newest lawyers attended the ball last Thursday and were given the opportunity to hear first hand about the work of STARTTS and to contribute to their fund raising efforts. A great night was had by all, and for a truly worthy cause.
