We successfully made a claim following a fatal injury by our client’s husband who was crushed to death under heavy machinery in his workplace. We successfully claimed statutory lump sum entitlements under the Workers Compensation Act and weekly payments for his children. We are now pursuing rights for damages for the family under the Compensation to Relatives Act.
We acted for the dependents of our client who was killed while riding her motorcycle to work in Wollongong by a P-plate driver who ran into the back of her motorcycle as she was attempting to make a right hand turn in the laneway of Australia Post, where she worked.
Liability was admitted and a successful compensation to relatives claim was made on behalf of her dependents, including her grandchildren.
