Dr James Goudkamp has been appointed as an Academic Fellow of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. He joins Dr Barbara Lauriat (King’s College London), Dr David Lowe (Liverpool John Moores University) and Dr Maksymilian Del Mar (Queen Mary, University of London) who have been selected to take up this prestigious three-year role. The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple is one of the four barrister Inns of Court of England and Wales. The Inns of Court hold the exclusive right to call candidates to practice at the Bar of England and Wales. The Inner Temple celebrated the 400th anniversary of the granting of its Royal Charter in 2008. The Inn has over 8,000 qualified members, including judges, barristers (both practising and non-practising) and pupils.
Dr Goudkamp is the son of Stacks Goudkamp’s Managing Director Tom Goudkamp.  Like his father, Dr Goudkamp has a strong interest in the law of negligence. He has been published in his own right and also contributes to a number of well-regarded legal publications.
