Two of our senior lawyers, Belinda Cassidy and Con Ktenas have been appointed to the Injury Compensation Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales for 2019. This committee, one of the hardest working committees, focussing on all aspects of person injury law, in particular the workers compensation and motor accident schemes in NSW and the impact of changes to those schemes on the profession and the public.
Con has been a member of the committee for many years and says, “I like being at the cutting edge of developments in the compensation schemes which helps me to give up to date and accurate advice to clients of the firm”. Belinda has re-joined the committee after a few years’ absence and says “I love giving back to the profession that has given so much to me, and hope to contribute to making the NSW compensation schemes as fair and efficient as possible”.
The Committee meets at least 10 times a year with special interest and ‘sub-committee’ meetings on an ad hoc basis.
