Suffering an injury at work can be shattering. As well as causing pain, stress and financial hardship, when insurers and rehabilitation experts become involved it can be confusing to understand what your rights are and who is on your side.
If you have suffered a workplace injury then you may be entitled to compensation. Workers compensation can cover your wages, medical expenses and other costs incurred to help provide financial peace of mind.
How Can We Help?
The Compensation Process
No two claims are identical but our process always starts the same way. At Stacks Goudkamp you are entitled to a complimentary, no-obligation interview where we will spend time getting to know you and the nature of your situation and advise you on the options that are available to you.
In your free non-obligation interview we will specifically provide you with information about:
- What you need to do to lodge a claim
- Your entitlements
- The time limits which apply
- Who pays the legal fees
- What your claim is likely to involve
Once we determine the facts, we can start building your case and working towards a positive, beneficial outcome. This will involve gathering relevant information and evidence such as medical reports.
How Much Will it Cost You?
Generally, nothing. We are experienced solicitors who are approved Legal Service Providers with the Workers Compensation Independent Review Office (WIRO). This means that for Workers Compensation claims (with the exception of Work Injury Damages claims, and claims involving police officers, ambulance officers and fire fighters) WIRO pay us at the end of the case irrespective of the outcome. If funding is not approved by WIRO, we will need to speak with you about legal costs, however it is our experience that WIRO, once satisfied of reasonable prospects will provide funding of a claim. We will pay for all medical reports required to prove your case. We will be reimbursed for these costs by WIRO.
If your case progresses to a Work Injury Damages claim, we will represent you on a No Win, No Fee basis.
