We are in a golden age of e-commerce. From clothes to holidays, Australians love to surf the net and fill up their virtual baskets with online bargains. However, what happens when a product bought online from an overseas retailer is faulty, or a service is not up to standard? Do Australians have any rights?
Managing Director, Tom Goudkamp OAM is pleased to announce the recent promotion of a new Practice Group Leader, Karina Goodall and Senior Associate, Alex Morrison.
In the news last week was a tragic story from Adelaide about a man in his 70s who was killed when the car he was working on rolled forward and crushed him. This has sparked an interesting debate about what constitutes a "motor vehicle accident" for the purposes of personal injury law and what entitlements may arise from an accident such as this.
Congratulations to our very own Samantha De Freitas who was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 22 June 2018.
On 31 May 2018, a valet at the Hyatt Regency Hotel crashed into another vehicle out to front of the hotel in Sydney. Thankfully, he was not injured. If he had been injured however, he may have been entitled to compensation under the new NSW motor accident compensation scheme.
